Golarion - My Dimension

Session 1 - Railroad, Old school D&D at it's best!

Master of the Fallen Fortress

Non-Gameplay

Reporting for Gaming: GM, BellaDonna, Garth

Actual Game Time: 1800 (thanks to slow character creation…)

Game Highlights

-Garth and BellaDonna arrive in Golarion Dimension 2(GD2)
-Due to stormy weather they take shelter in a nearby “Siege Tower”.
-Garth dispatches 3 wild dogs (due to GM misunderstanding of AoO rules, there was no fight. Garth took his 3 AoO’s as the dogs moved within threatened spaces and didn’t miss a swing)
-The lower level was mostly collapsed but a spider fight was drawn out due to the spider’s wariness of coming down for hand-to-hand combat.

-The pair climb to the second level and destroy 2 troglodyte guards.
-They then procede to kill a shocker lizard, first trying to befriend it, but to no avail.
-Disabled a trap by knocking it over.

-Garth spent 24 seconds bashing a door on the third level leading to a temple.
-Another quick battle with 2 burning skeletons. (again AoO’s were used that should not have been)
-The group pilfered through the room and found the secret door leading to the only other room on level 3. Garth broke the door off it’s hinges with 1 hit.
-Thanks to a scroll of Shatter, the swarm of bats was disabled before being kicked off the ledge.

-Level 4 leads to a fight with 3 troglodytes. Twice Garth closes the door as troglodyte spears are thrown. The first falls to Geisha’s shuriken, causing the other two to run.
-Garth moves to intercept one troglodyte ending it’s life. (a good use of an AoO feat).
-BellaDonna prepares for a charge from the second troglodyte but ends up throwing shurikens at it as it runs up the stairs.
-The duo moves on to another room and face a large sized troglodyte with little trouble.
-Here they find a chest of treasures that all belong to a prisoner kept nearby.
-The Pathfinder dwarf joins the party in hopes of eradicating the troubles of the tower.
-Now three strong, they encounter a giant frog. Garth takes a chance and successfully removes the frogs tongue from it’s body with a well-placed axe swing. Missile fire finishes off the enemy.

-Upon returning to the staircase, they find the dead body of the troglodyte that ran past BellaDonna.
-Level 5 brings an empty throne room, complete with treasure chest, on a precarious ledge of the tower. Garth goes back to get their rope for safety and BellaDonna and Dwarf get ambushed by an albino croc and a giant centipede.
-BellaDonna runs to get Garth chased by the giant centipede, the dwarf is attacked and death rolled by the croc.
-BellaDonna catches Garth who finishes off the centipede.

-Returning quickly to help the dwarf, they arrive to late. Now faced with the troglodyte spell-caster.
-Garth is swarmed by spiders, but has enough protection due to his armor to ignore the spells lethal nature. He moves to attack the “king of the tower”, and is met with fire baring attacks that put him in grave danger.
-BellaDonna ducks for cover as the croc eyes her before moving on to flank Garth. BellaDonna unleashes shuriken after shuriken trying to slow it down.
-In a desperate act before his life is ended Garth engages the troglodyte, overbearing it before throwing off the top of the tower 80 feet to it’s death.
-Garth turns to face the croc, aware that his valiant efforts would probably still end in his demise by death roll. BellaDonna finishes the croc as it lunges for Garth with a well placed shuriken.
-Garth proceeds to repeatedly beat the crocs head with his axe, before running to aid the dwarf in his death thralls, only to arrive a moment to late.
-The party loots the treasure chest in the throne room and prepares to wait out the storm.

Gameplay

Garth is currently employed by a geisha girl escorting her to the next city of note. They are beset with terrible weather and while travelling along a known pathway they notice a shimmer around them. The world changes subtly, but noticeably. Pine trees now have leaves, bushes that didn’t, now have berries. And the trail they were following, is lost(despite Garth’s amazing survival skill, he can’t find himself in a place he has never been). Garth has the feeling they were magically transported to their present location(successful spellcraft check).

After travelling for several days they come upon a siege tower and decide to take refuge from the weather.
